Polymer Coupled-Resonator Optical Waveguides

This design project showcases the arrangement of dye-doped polymer microspheres into periodic coupled-resonator chains capable of guiding light via whispering gallery mode (WGM) coupling. Using precision micromanipulation, individual microspheres were assembled into dimeric, trimeric, tetrameric, and bent geometries to study directional light transport, inter-resonator coupling, and structural effects on optical performance.
